Daniel Alan Radcliffe was born in
Fullham, West London UK
on July 23, 1989. Daniel Radcliffe, or Dan, as he likes to be called wanted to become an
actor at the age of five years old but his parents, Marcia Gresham and Alan
Radcliffe, never thought it would be a good idea. They came around finally
when the family's friend, Kate Harwood, was producing a BBC production of
Charles Dickens's novel "David Copperfield". Dan was cast as a young David
Copperfield at the age of 10. "David Copperfield" was Dan's first
real professional
acting job.
Dan had to beat 16,000 boys auditioning for the role
of Harry Potter, according to the BBC. Dan first learned that he had gotten
the part while he was in the bath. When his father told him he got the part Dan cried with
joy. Dan has made $110,000 off "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's
Stone" and made $ 3,000,000 for "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets".
Besides The Harry Potter series and " David
Copperfield" Dan has also been in "The Tailor of Panama" (directed by John
Boorman) a spy thriller based on the John le Carré's 1996
novel. Dan also started in the series of Simon Curites a BBC
production.
Dan's favorite subject is science. He has two dogs, Binka and
Nugget, they are collies. Dan likes playing play station and also enjoys "WWE", soccer, and
watching "The Simpsons". He has dark brown hair and blue eyes and
wares green
contact lenses for his role as Harry Potter. Dan is said to carry out
most of his stunts, but one of the most changing things he had to do
according to him is the "Mirror of Erised" scene in "Harry Potter
and the Sorcerer's Stone" when he had to show a whole range of
emotion. He tried the read the Harry Potter book at 8, but did not fully
read the books before the beginning of his role. Dan's favorite Harry Potter
book is "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" because it is really
twisted. He dose think Harry will die at the end. As the final thing to get rid
of Voldemort.
